The Kids Go to a Giant's Baseball Game

It was a night I got to spend at home by myself while the rest of the family went to see the Giant's play baseball. This game was a spring training game on 3-30-10. Rod had a great time with the kids.

What Grandkids Will Do For Money

We asked Daniella and Casey if they wanted to earn a couple of dollars by helping Nammie and Papa. They said yes. So we gave them some plastic gloves, a small trashcan and told them to pick up the dog poop in the side yard. They said for money - no problem. Rod was thrilled he didn't have to do it that week!

Tristan's 5th Birthday Swim Party

On Tristan's actual birthday, June 19th we met at Mark's home for another swim/birthday party. Aunt Cherie made Tristan a SpongeBob birthday cake that included all the cartoon characters. It was such a cute cake. All the family was there and Tristan's friend Cassidy. There was a SpongeBob pinata that Ashley finally broke so the candy would fall out. The boys decided the star points to the pinata were great hats as you can see. Tristan loved the bug catcher he received from Nammie and Papa and walkie talkies. The kids also had a great time bouncing on the trampoline.

Tristan Graduates From K-4

On May 18th Tristan took part in his K-4 kindergarten graduation. They marched in, sang a couple of songs, showed us how they could read and received their diplomas. Tristan as many of the other boys were not really having a good time. They looked like they wanted to be somewhere else, after all they are just 4 years old! It was so cute to see them in their blue caps and receive their diplomas.

Grand Canyon in the Snow

While Joel and Steph were visiting this spring, we went to the Grand Canyon. Joel and Steph had never been. As we made it to Williams, Arizona it began to snow and we had a white out while Patty was driving. (I haven't driven in the snow since 1969!) Their first view of the canyon was spectacular and seeing it in the snow was a new and wonderful experience. Since it was spring the elk were giving birth and we saw many elk and their babies! What a fantastic time we had together.

Cadence's 6th Birthday Swim Party

Cadence celebrated her 6th birthday at Daddy's house and invited her friends and family to swim. The theme was Hello Kitty and her Aunt Cherie made a fabulous Hello Kitty cake. There was a huge Hello Kitty pinata filled with non-chocolate candy (no melting in the Arizona sun). It was one of the hardest pinatas to break, but big brother Zachery helped to punch a hole and get the candy to fall out. Cadence received a DS player and clothes and gift cards to buy what she wanted. It was a fun day for all to have fun in the sun.

Zachery's 8th Birthday @ Peter Piper Pizza

All the family gathered at Peter Piper Pizza on April 10th to celebrate Zachery's 8th birthday (His birthday was on the 2nd). The pizza is really very good and the kids can play games and earn tickets to buy useless trinkets. His Aunt Cherie made a vanilla/chocolate Star Wars cake. The blue icing changed everyone's teeth and tongues. Zachery received many fun gifts and of course clothes. Even Aunt Stephanie and Uncle Joel from Michigan were there to celebrate. The funniest time was when Papa was lighting the candles on the cake and accidentally blew out all the candles! He relit them and Zachery finally got them blown out.

First Piano Recital for Ashley & Casey

On April 2nd Ashley and Casey had their first piano recital. They had practiced hard and long. Casey was the first one to perform and this was her first recital - no pressure! She did really well. Ashley was 2nd to the last to perform and also did an excellent job. Papa and Nammie were very proud of their hard work and great effort.
